Shul Update

The insurance company has begun their assessment of the shul building, but it has not yet been completed.

Search is still underway for a suitable building to house our shul for the upcoming Yomim Noraim and the next few weeks. Here is a list of locations that have been considered, along with their drawbacks:

  • First floor of Wolf’s building on Nostrand Ave. (Rabbi Horowitz’s shul uses it for Yomim Noraim)
  • Young Israel of Ave K (Caterer has to allow, says there are not enough bathrooms)
  • Rabbi Kahn’s Shul (may be too far for some people)
  • Public School on Ave K & Nostrand (hard to get permission, and might not have air conditioning)
  • Rabbi Klor’s yeshiva (no room large enough)
  • Rabbi Raful’s shul on Ave. L (not large enough and may be too far)

We will continue to keep you posted with any new information. All your suggestions are greatly appreciated, feel free to let us know of any ideas of any place that can serve as a temporary home for our shul during the next few weeks. We need a place large enough to accomodate at least 250 seats.
